The DVD! It arrived!

The insert has one of the worst photos of Ryo I have ever seen. Get a better haircut, dude. WHY DID THEY PICK THAT. Better photos surfaced from the photographer! But Kiba looks stylish in a woman's plaid jacket and Aniki and Takafumi just rock. The cover shots are better.

But seriously. His hair at the moment is like... I can't even call it a mullet after all. It's about the same length as mine, except he has two pieces on either side of his head that are shoulder-length. Actually, hell, it looks just like this icon except it's like a sideways mullet... it's short at the back! I don't even understand you at all anymore. Are you too lazy to have consistent hair? Do the young kids think you're hip? Are you trying to set a trend or did you have an argument with the clippers? Mr. Man, I want an explanation or I want it fixed since you've been maintaining and entertaining it long enough. It's not even that bad from the front, but from the side? Oh jesus.

I was trying to fool myself into being totally content, which was working until I got a phone call from someone I met at the shows, auuugh. I have to, at some point, get down to CA to get my passport anyway... (yeah, keep telling yourself that the passport is the most important thing, Tash.)

It'd just have to be on the megacheap. Hmm. I don't know. I could maybe coerce Mum into driving and that's a big maybe. I'd have to find someone else to feed at the barn on the Saturday. Aaand it is a long drive, a really long drive to SoCal.

I'm probably tired and delirious from a long day in the heat, but it's definitely doable if costs can be cut...

What. Since when did such incestuous ties occur in my western music tastes! This is something I should only expect from Japanese bands!

I'm not familiar with Eisley, but it's making me wtf enough to see Jon Crosby (VAST) and Zac Hanson's names together. Weird combination but the song is lovely. I didn't even know VAST had a more recent album out, augh. That version is cool, too.
I'm not really into the Eisley girl's voice as much as Zac and Crosby's. I would have liked to hear a verse by each or something to really show off each of them. I'm going to assume it was Zac's idea to invite them to Fool's Banquet that year wtfff.

I continually say that I'm impressed by how far Hanson have come and how much more open-minded they've been in the last several years. It's pretty cool to see examples of that. Though I'll stand by that I'm kind of sick of Taylor's voice and how over-the-top his style is, at least Zac is singing a hell of a lot more and relieving me with his mellowness. Ike's voice never did a hell of a lot for me so I'll just leave him alone.

Weekend events!

Pride 2009, I will definitely be there on Saturday to see Uh Huh Her. I didn't realise it was so soon! Very cool.

Dante's has some cool bands going on after that, as well as a Hedwig and the Angry Inch performance on Sunday so I'll probably go see that even if I end up alone! I hope it is what it claims, haha. I expect a cover band, not a full performance.

This is just in time. I do absolutely feel like getting my party on. I blame VAMPS and already getting amped up for this, yeeeeah! Should be wicked cool.

Oh yeah, and! Obscure Youtube video for the win! This is my brother's old school doom metal band. Go figure! He is stage right, in the "white" pants (apparently they were his really, really faded jeans... okay). Oh, Danny. Your crooning! It's awesome. Check it out.

THUNDERSTORM YESTERDAY

AWESOME, I MISSED THEM (but I laugh at everyone making a huge deal out of it when this is a typical storm every other day where I come from)

Darrel texted me and told me he has more tickets, so if anyone wants to come to the Lipizzaner show, uh... tell me quicksmart! It's on Sunday at 2pm. Tickets are freebies, pretty sure bar and food are extra. I don't really care if I go on my own, though I'm the only single stablehand besides Melissa, who is staying at the barn, hahaha. That's always kind of awkward. Buddy systems are better!

OH HEY YEAH I think I did work out why I get all unfocused and foggy on non-work days.
... I really have become a coffee drinker. That routine cup on the way to work has taken over my soul. I'm bound forever, now. GREAT. Looks like I need to get an espresso machine for home or buy some shit to make my own frappuccinos (maybe I should work there for a week and get the inside story?).
